February 27, 2008 by iforuThose who want to make a quick buck always advise you to buy web space. I don’t buy air to breathe so why buy websites or opt for paid hostings?
The advocates of paid hostings are like landlords. They don’t know what they are talking about when selling hosting plans because most buyers don’t know or would be hammered non-stop into paid registrations. While big companies need to have their own websites for commercial gains, for common folk its just a criminal waste of money. The companies can afford massive ads wherever they wish and publicize their URLs or web addresses. I have a squidoo lens on home based business with free resources which has a PR4 and gets a good traffic.
The SEO gurus advocate owning keyword rich domain names and paid hostings to get listed on top for search queries. And the icing on the cake is, nothing is assured because your site can always be knocked out by a smarter fellow. And how many sites could they send to the top? I recall, a fellow was doing good internet business but the SEO company that approached him promising the moon, messed up his business in no time. The poor fellow’s website carried his phone numbers, so people could call for buys. The SEO company managed to convince the fellow and substituted email id in place of the phone numbers! It took a long while for the fellow to get back to business after he reverted to the un-seo-ed website.
Granted there are exceptions, but simple SEO is not hard to follow. After all, the latest word is – Word of Mouth! And it reigns supreme, You Tube or No You Tube.
Then again when people started getting page ranks but no traffic, the gurus came up with the so-called ‘Trust Rank’. I can assure you, till the end of this world, new jargon will continue to be christened, coined and corrupted.
Heck, I would rely on free websites any day. I have page ranks and also get good SERPs and traffic for this free site.
How To Make A Website?
December 28, 2007 by iforuAccording to an estimate, there are about ten billion websites! Type any word or phrase into a search box and you get millions of results. Internet or the web rather has caught the fancy of children and elders alike. The question that comes to mind is: why have a website? In the earlier era people with views or opinions were at the mercy of editors of newspapers and magazines. Some had to be content with their letters published in the ‘Letters to the editor’ column. Even that is difficult at times.
Now you can put across your ideas, products, services etc. on the net – free of charge! You can choose to have a paid website or you can simply try free web services suggested in my home based business blog.
You need not be an expert in web design or computer programming. There are handy and free website builders available. A little imagination, simple language, elegant style etc. are required. The only problem is how people notice your website in the haystack of billions of websites floating around. There are several methods for this which this blog will explain in detail. So keep coming back for updates.
Oh, I forgot to tell you – you can monetize your site and earn money from a free home based business too!
